Hello readers, this week’s Thursday Doors post is linking up with Sunday Stills #Eerie and #WQW cold ).

The first door photo is from downtown Richmond, Virginia – and it has an eerie and chilly kind of vibe.

Ending with a street shot – because even though the cowboy on the bench is rather cool – and his solo vibe fits in with the quotes -this photo is also a little funky (maybe eerie from this angle) – with the random art, trio of mobile options, thin gray doors to parking, etc.  I also liked the way the window lines upper left synced with the window lines lower right. Oh and this was taken in Austin, Texas.

    1. Thanks so much – and right now that large brick building is used as two store fronts in lower from – side by side
      But I think it was a factory back some years ago / that area is an older area and think they produced stuff there

        2. Different taste for sure. Have you heard of Brutalist Architecture? Its style gives me the creeps; once went to an open house with that style and it was not conducive for cozy living.

    1. Thanks Robbie and the large brick building looks less daunting in real life – it was likely a factory or storage warehouse – now it has two stores in the lower front

  8. Wonderful doors, Yvette and I love how you paired them with the quotes. The first photo does have a bit of a creepy vibe to it. I always wonder about doors where the window is low or centered. I always enjoy your street scenes. You have a great eye for the composition that works.

    1. Dan – thanks for the nice comment on my street scenes- and the feedback on the doors – the first photo of the double doors is actually a nice eatery downtown and that lower level has been closed a lot because of the pandemic – so dark but not creepy in person – ha

  10. Wonderful photos and I like the 2 views, up close then pulled back which makes them look really old and the Virginia brick building is huge compared too the tiny door. The one in Texas with the cowboy is cool!! 🥰

  13. Fabulous eerie doors, Yvette! The first doors are eerie/creepy indeed and the rustic cowboy’s juxtaposition against the modern backdrop is way cool! Loved the Les Mis Hugo quotes alongside.

  15. Excellent photos and quotes, Yvette. Thanks for joining in the quoting fun, and what better way to keep out the cold, but a door. The brick building with the boarded-up door looked bleak! That building was tall with no windows. What is it? I wouldn’t want to go there at night! 🙂

    1. Hi Marsha – that building is a now a place where two stores anchor from – and I think they have warehouse storage space in back of their stores – but it makes me wonder what it used to be when it was first built- maybe a factory of some sort

  20. [I’m a little behind here – ahem five days.] I like your old brick buildings in RVA Yvette and the old log house reminds me of the loghouse at Heritage Park. I like the street shot with artwork as well. Do they rent the scooters out, or they just happened to be parked there?
