Sunday Trees (Transforming Beauty)

The weekly photo challenge is transformation (here) and as I was thinking about my final Sunday Tree Post of 2017 (to join in with Becca’s Trees #315), I thought about how trees transform the world. To show some of this tree transformation, here are some different take on trees:

Looking up

Looking Down
Looking Over
Looking Behind

Looking ahead
Looking Straight

Looking up even more

Looking Through
Looking Beyond
Looking Side to Side
Looking Back a Decade
Looking at Texture
Looking at Tree Beauty All Around

All photos from the state of Virginia – except for the stump and the one with the toilet – both from New York.  Also, the one with the train tracks was taken in South Carolina.

And I cannot resist – have to share two comics….

    1. Hi YC- the first one might be my fav – and I was not sure if I shared it before via blog – and I also laughed with the toe to toe to toe – and also thought about how some folks are so possessive with “mine”

        1. well YC – I have enough songs that remind me of you – ((like Die a Happy Man and Eagles’ Peaceful easy feeling)) but your comment reminded me of the song “Signs” (1970- Five Man Electrical Band):

“And the sign said anybody caught trespassin’
          would be shot on sight
So I jumped on the fence and-a yelled
          at the house
          “Hey!
          What gives you the right?”
          “To put up a fence
          to keep me out
or to keep mother nature in”
“If God was here he’d tell you to your face, man, you’re some kinda sinner”

        2. right on.
          so glad to read that.
and I am not a “socialist” or anything like that (not at all) but sometimes this whole “mine, mine, mine” thing is too much…
          xxoo

  1. Nice photos, Y. I didn’t expect “Looking Behind” at all. That one made me laugh 😉 Why is there some red color on the first tree?
    Have a wonderful evening.

    1. Hi – I have no idea where the red came from. I took the photo so long ago (and had that one in a folder before I took my hiatus this year – I need to find the original – if I even have it anymore – because I was wondering about the color too)
if I find out I will let you know.

  2. A superb post Y 😀 Loved every bit of it – the tree collection, the creativity with the captions (looking up even more and looking back a decade were my favorites! Even the textures one…) The cartoons – evergreens are shy! Thanks a lot for so much cheer on this dreary winter morning!

  3. I love that ‘looking behind’ and ‘looking ahead.’ What is the toilet doing there? And the last comic made me count its toes!! Wonderful job for the post, as always, Yvette!

    1. thanks so much Grandma M – I was just using up some leftovers and I am glad it came together. So glad.
and the toilet cracked me up to find – I was on a walk – in this beautiful area – and turned and there it was –

  4. Still laughing at the toe to toe to toe to toe cartoon. That will have me chuckling all day. Lovely tree photos and i especially like the feature one looking up. The sunlight making valiant efforts to shine through thick branches. I’m sure I can almost smell the forest and of course I want to climb right on up.

    1. wow – such a nice little descriptive comment, Sue – and added to the beauty of the trees with such words.
To think of climbing and then you mention the smells…
      ahhhhh
and glad to share a smile with the comic –
      xxoo

    1. Hi – sorry – I have been away – and I never quite did a tree project – but have been inspired this last year to join in on the “sunday trees” challenge – and so this post is a result of those weekly pics accumulating (thanks for asking)
