Thursday Doors (artsy doors from Virginia Beach)

Hello Blog Readers. It is time for Thursday doors and today I bring you again to Virginia Beach, VA.

door detail

To see more doors – or to join in with this challenge, check out Norm 2.0 – HERE (I will add the linkup link on Friday – this is a scheduled post)

To wrap up the post today, this next comic (by Brian Savage) partly describes my month. Not the hammock so much, but the “writing while not writing.”  This is in contrast to the MANY folks who are finishing up National Novel Writing Month and National Blog Posting Month – and congrats to all of you writers who reached your goals for November 2017.  🙂

The next comic, by Lee Lorenz, speaks for itself.

Hope your Thursday is going well.

    1. ahhhh – it is in the garden where things get done…. sometimes i need paper – or the computer – and need it big time – most of the time that is – but there are the other times when we write elsehwere eh?

    1. thanks for your comment – and I do think some writers would maybe disagree – I sometimes sense some angst from those who don’t realize the beauty (or need) days off from actual writing – and we need days on….
(and good night to you too – I have a few more minutes left to blog – but sweet dreams amiga)

  1. Cool and colorful doors! Love the cartoons especially the hammock. I didn’t even have any November goals :-(.
Back home after a month out of the house I must tackle a lengthy to do list….which is in my head and not on paper.

      1. well you must soak up that bed…
and side note – I was just reading that it is actually A-okay to end a sentence with a prep – “they” say that it is actually a rule that applies to Latin and not English (more here:
        https://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2011/11/28/grammar-myths-prepositions/)

“There are numerous myths relating to grammatical dos and don’ts, many of which were drummed into us at school. The one that stubbornly refuses to budge from my mind is the diktat ‘never start a sentence with a conjunction such as and or but’. Another one is that one cannot end a sentence with a preposition.”

      2. Oh my. Guess it was drummed into me but I did it anyway and I know I’ve started sentences with convictions too😅 so I appreciate your research and link! Phew

  2. Haha! 😀😀 Great comic strip and words I often utter!! Whilst sitting on the swing bench in the garden on a warm summer’s day! 😀😀 The doors are great and the one with the bears on either side just calls out to be approached and entered! Lovely post, Yvette! 😀

    1. thanks author Annika….
I almost left out the photo of the entrance ramp and doors on both sides….but included it in because it shows you what is left of the patio….

  4. Thanks for the fun and colorful doors. We are under cold gray skies today and this was a bright spot worth looking at. I also enjoyed the comics 🙂

  5. Cool art work on the door and the side wall together. I like the bear on the side. He (she) is cute and cheerful. The lightning bolt is cool too. I am now wonder what this place is.

Seeing comics you have here reminds me of my favorite cartoonist – Gary Larson.

    1. Hi Jesh – well seeing that the Thursday challenge actually starts Thursday morning and runs too Sunday morning – I have gotten used to that time period of soaking up doors – but like you – I sorta like prompts on their actual day – like Friday Fiction on Friday and Tuesday texture on Tuesdays – and so while I try to visit the Thursday door blogs linkers on Thursday – I feel that I can read a challenge on any day of the week and still enjoy the wonderful posts – and so Friday fiction on Wednesday??? – no problemo for moi – 🙂
anyhow, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment – peace to you
