Hello Blog Readers,
Lost in Translation’s Pick a Word in December has the following words: sagacious, non-human, portrayal, remains, stellar. I have incorporated them into this avian-themed post.
During the summer, I went through the REMAINS of some art supplies and took out the mini birdies, a card, and the SAGACIOUS-looking Sheriff painted on a scrap of wood.
To give a nice PORTRAYAL of the mini NONHUMAN creations, I set them up on the sheriff painting and took a photo:
These next mini birds had wings that were rather STELLAR so they joined in the photo shoot as well.
For those avian friends out there, check out these posts:
~ Janet has an “Avian Starbucks” close to her home – HERE
~ BushBoy has many bird posts (as a lot of you do!) and a top post for me from BB this year was his “This is September: The Birds” HERE
~ For a while now I have been wanting to share some of the bird humor from blogger H.J. Ruiz. Ruiz is a bird lover who has an entire page with original and witty bird humor – HERE. And the next image gives a little sample:
Also, for those that have been following this blog since last year, you might recall the year-long challenge for the 365 Days of Art.
I have trickled it along on another blog (here) and today is Day #363 (only two more days to wrap it up).
And seeing that HJ’s bird humor made it into this month’s Pick a Word post, I have decided to feature HJ’s wonderful bird art (here) for Day #363 of the 365 Days of Art, with a sampling of his work:

Well that is all for this post – hope you have a nice day and to join in on Paula’s Pick a Word challenge, or to see more – go HERE.

You did a stellar job of pulling all these ideas/themes together (and thanks for the linkup, too.) You’d like our little nature Christmas tree featuring all sorts of birds and other outdoor themes. I just finished setting it up and one of these days, it will make it to the blog. As for humor, I always enjoy good, clean humor, so thanks.

Hi Janet – look forward to the upcoming posts and your comment reminded me of another thing I like about HJ’s humor – clean and good….
thanks for noting that point
and I also cannot stand “defamation humor” which I hope to post about in a blogpost soon….
peace

Thanks Tish, I am not into “country” genre art, but this little piece has always been a little one that I am drawn to…

my pleasure and thanks again for letting me reference your humor – I was not sure how I was going to post about it – and then this seemed like the right time because – well your little gravatar (blue birdie with nice camera) comes to mind when I see certain little birds – funny how bloggers come to mind at times.
oh – and on a more serious note – one I did not get to mention in this post – well your take on the power of humor is something we all need to be reminded of again and again.
laughter (and smiling) is such good medicine

Charming. It really was a winning way to unite the subjects. I’m very fond of the miniatures. Those are really cute. My mother sent me a few birdies for my Yule tree, and they do add a certain natural happiness, just like realy life 🙂

oh and miniatures do not take up too much space – not like, um, a treadmill – ha
