Hello Everyone. It is time for another Two For Tuesday. Today I have some seahorses:
Part 2:
Did you know the hippocampus (small organ in the brain that is part of the limbic system) is shaped like a seahorse? Well not exactly – but close (and this next image has exaggerated this likeness just a bit).
Also – here is a snippet from Breaking Bad about memories and the hippocampus:
And speaking of Breaking Bad – and thinking of Walter White (the chemist) – let’s end this post with a comic of two old atoms talking:

.
I don’t think I had ever heard about the hippocampus being the shape of a seahorse.

well I guess it depends on the angle – and the last time I looked inside a brain I saw more of a fish – totally kidding – lol – but in that image they really made the seahorse pop – eh?

I must say, your two seahorses sure are pretty! Hmm, so the hippocampus is shaped like a seahorse, huh? Is that why I sometimes feel like my brain is swimming? LOL! Just kidding! Although I do think there are days when I relate to your atoms! 😆

Hi L- those are pieces from Florida – so maybe it felt like your former home… 🙂
and I read your comment earlier and laughed pretty good – you are so funny – that was well worded – you are on a writing roll these days – eh?

I like to think of myself as a woman of few words…but, then again, when you get me going sometimes it’s hard to shut me up whether I actually have something to say or not but on the other hand…. 😆

I did not know that the hippocampus had the seahorse shape. Great illustration to show it! Thanks, Yvette!

Relational memory is amazing. The limbic system is amazing. Brains are awesome. Smells are a big trigger for me. I feel happy in my heart now, thanks ❤

I’m not sure which of the 2 seahorses at the beginning I like more. I love the simple beauty of the one fashioned on a plain piece of wood, and yet the 2nd one has bling. Bling is always good 🙂

haha – gosh – that is kinda how I felt – liked both – and laughing at the “bling is always good” -:)
