It is now six weeks in a row that I have paired some writing with a photo from Rebel Guy.
This Bell Flower spoke to me: The Difference You Make is Sometimes only Felt
This week’s flower power post (here) had four images and when I saw this first picture I stopped. I did not even scroll right away – just paused – because the bit of light he caught to the right – (or is it light? is it fairy dust – or an angel moving – just kidding) but it reminded me of how sometimes we just feel things that we cannot see. I guess faith is this way – of course -but that was not where my mind was going. I started thinking about how our essence often lingers and DOES add up – even if we do not always see results. So let’s say we reach out a bit – or give and serve – or choose to love – or heck – just go out of our way to share/connect in blogland.
Well sometimes the things we do might not seem to make an impact – but it does add up. It is always the sum of the parts. And so as imperfect people – flawed – and often working on accepting and not always changing – or changing what might be beneficial to modify – well let us NOT forget the essence we leave in our wake. Do we leave behind stink or sweetness? And again – not suggesting Pollyanna or overly charming –
but just genuinely being who we are and mindful of others too – because it DOES make a difference.
In closing, I also liked the little hairs and pollen that RG captured in his image of the Bell Flower.
If you like this flower and want to see some amazing micro pictures of similar ones, Bryan Johnston has a wonderful Micro Bell Flower project to see HERE.

I like the way you compare the little acts of love with the fragrance of a flower. And the cartoon above is priceless.

Hello – and I like the way your worded that “little acts of love are like the fragrance of a flower” (or can be….)

I’ve never been a big comic fan — with the exceptions of Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes.I’m obsessively devoted to both.

Love that photo and your words to go along with it. It is so true that we may go our whole life and often never know the impact (for good or not) we might have on someone. Sometimes it’s just a little thing that’s done or not done. I sure love that Peanuts cartoon! 😀

Hi Linda – and thanks for chiming in – so much to chew on – especially the “for good or not” part….
and it now has me kinda thinking of “It’s a wonderful life” and maybe those little bokeh lights (or whatever RG captured there – like maybe they really do have fairies in their garden – it might be California thing now that pot is legal – kidding… ) but maybe those light effects are angels getting their wings – 🙂

that was what I thought – fairies of the Irish descent – lol
and only certain photographers can catch them – all about timing I guess – lol

You’re right. The little things we do day after day do add up. When they are consistent, they become a message. I like Snoopy and his message!

I absolutely believe that we leave our indelible mark where we go – good or bad; so I think exercising little acts of kindness where and when we can is the right thing to do!
Angels, pixie dust, light … I love the idea of that little extra being there!
