To join in with Su’s Changing seasons challenge, I am sharing some photos from January.
In the first photo -we see how the holiday lights stay up well into January (Photo taken January 5th). I saw a wreath on a house last night (and it is February now) – and I guess some folks keep their holiday stuff up year round.
The second photo shows some of the custom-t-shirts we made with JACKBOX Tee-K-O game (here).
We have the bundle of JACKBOX games (4 different games) and I highly recommend these games for friend or family game night. (I am not endorsed or affiliated – just like the product – and many thanks to my stepdaughter for introducing us to this game.)
In the T-shirt game, each player draws a few images and then comes up with some slogans or phrases. Then things are shuffled and players are asked to match three drawings with three slogans, which then produces some shirt combinations that get voted on. (Many laughs…)
And with some systems – you can order t-shirts if you like them.
Here are some of our custom T’s that I liked:
The weekly photo challenge (here) this week is beloved, and this photo from early January shows two of my loved ones – my eldest son and spouse. We were dining at a place called “Fuzzy Taco” and I just liked the way this impromptu photo came out.
And here is the hot sauce from Fuzzy Taco serves – called “butt burnin’ (and no, I did not try it…demasiado caliente)
This last photo from around town (late-January) reminds me of the playful ways people express who they are – a pimped out Volvo….
That is all for my “Changing Seasons” Post (#1 of 2018).
If you want to join in – you can get more info HERE and here are the challenge guidelines:
The Changing Seasons Version One (photographic):
- Each month, post 5-20 photos in a gallery that you feel represent your month
- Don’t use photos from your (blog) archive. Only new shots.
- Tag your posts with #MonthlyPhotoChallenge and #TheChangingSeasons so that others can find them
The Changing Seasons Version Two (you choose the format):
- Each month, post a photo, recipe, painting, drawing, video, whatever that you feel says something about your month
- Don’t use archive stuff. Only new material!
- Tag your posts with #MonthlyPhotoChallenge and #TheChangingSeasons so others can find them.
Thanks Su for hosting — and a little shout out to Cardinal Guzman for birthing The Changing Seasons challenge four years ago.

People standing with bright light shining from behind make very impressive silhouettes. I like these two photos best.

well thanks so much Peter – yeah, the backlight is fun – and I was going for the yellow tables – because they felt so construction-like – really yellow and bright – and that was why I included the second pic – so thanks for the comment on these…

We are the latest in the neighborhood to put Christmas decoration away. We like board games. Your game seems interesting and easy to play.

Oh Miriam – you have to check out the games – they were a highlight because for us – well it is really impossible to get a board game going (sniff) – and these Jackbox games have a different vibe with different groups – but always fun
(and hope your “un” decorating went well – and in my opinion – take your time…)

Humm, my daughter got 5 new games from Autumn (her baby – guess where she got the money), so no name games for a while. But I’ll check it out, Thanks.

well the bundle was under twenty dollars – and before Xmas I think it was almost thirty – we bought some as gifts – and it might even be 24.99 for all the party pack 3 (4 games)

Wow, that’s very reasonable, thanks.

yes- but they have one game (but it come sin the bundle so we got it) that i asked to not have played when I am around – it is the murder mystery one – and not that I mind things like Clue or certain Whodunnits – but it is too sinister, dark, and very offensive to my spirit.
but please do not let that chase you away – just the t-shirt games are worth it.
for example,
and the one with the diamond ring and “go for it” was my SDs and the “say my name” is a TV show reference and so these memories will always be winter 2018 for us…. ahhhh
and I can picture M smiling as she was cleverly coming up with stuff…
little things like that

My daughter is impressed of how quick I learn new games. I haven’t played any dark games, mystery, yes.

And it’s not like you are exactly sneaking around town in a car like that.

haha – nope – very loud – and in hindsight I wish I had gone up closer for a side view shot.
but I have my limits with street shots – there is a fine line (that I might cross at times) between public and private even in the open and I try to be respectful with any capturing.

Yeah, I’m pretty timid when it comes to street photography.

Yay. Thank you for joining The Changing Seasons. I so love the T-shirt designs, and the photo of your beloved(s) is very cool. My inlaws got to the stage where they didn’t take their Christmas decorations down at all. The use to have the tree in the entrance hall, and it was the first thing visitors would see — all year round, for several years 😂
PS: I’m on the road at the moment, and it may take me a day or so to add your post to the blog roll. Apologies: combination of elderly dad and iPad that won’t play ball.

oh safe travels, Su and thanks for the comment – and I bet visiting your in-laws was nice because it sounds like they cared about “important” matters… ha

Thanks. My in-laws were very kind people, but they elevated sloth to an art form 😂

Love your ‘beloved’ pic, Yvette, especially in monochrome. And the first photo is so festive.

Yay! You did it! 😄 Love the Christmas lights – and have to admit that I’ve finally put my decoration back in its box. The t-shirts are awesome – I like the ones with the coffee and the diamond ring best. 😊 What a fun game this is! And I would also stay away from that hot sauce!! 😂 Great changing seasons post, Yvette! I look forward to your February! xoxo

yes – I did it – 🙂
and thanks for sharing the t-shirt choices – the ring one still cracks me up…

Yvette, loved the black-and-white photo of your two beloveds, more power in the b&w than in the color, esp. the dramatic white light outside the window! And I enjoyed the whimsy of the Volvo picture – hah! A Volvo, yet? And, did you change your header image on the blog? I really like the new image. Great!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hi Theresa – thanks for your comment – exp on the Volvo because that was what i was thinking – not the normal type of car to see like that –
and no – I have not changed the headers in almost two years – but was actually thinking of doing it soon – so the timing of your inquiry was cool – but I do have a rotating header – so that might be it looked different
“:)

Oh! Well, I liked it, it was a multicolor header, which I probably had not seen before. 🙂 And yes, the strange Volvo! We live up the street from a Volvo dealership in Seattle and your photo cracked me up.

Love your selections! We didn’t get very many decorations out this year so not much to put away! You’ve got some interesting T-shirts there. I’d say that right now I’m relating to the palm tree and the sea! Ha! Love how they were silhouetted with the bright lights behind. And is that a horse statue on top of the Volvo?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hi L – not sure what that is on the Volvo – some creature statue….
and those trees were my contributions – (the game randomly lets people pick from only a few they narrow down) and yes, they are FLORIDA palm trees (not to be confused with other palm trees = jk)
and a little taste of Flz for us both….
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hee! We could probably both use a little FL at the moment! 😆

The shirts look so cool! I’ll love to try the hot sauce, though.

well you must have an iron stomach – mmm nice – and there were a lot of people using them so I do not think they were too high in the “hotness” on the Scoville Scale

I love hot sauce! We used to have the world’s number one hot pepper a few years ago, but now we’re number 2 and we have about 4 of the hottest peppers in the top 10 worldwide.
LikeLiked by 1 person
are you serious – ? maybe you can post about it.
For about five years = the guys were into making chili for the chili cookoff here – and that was when I learned about the scale and type of hotness –
maybe you should post about your peppers and the stats you just shared – sounds so interesting

Okay, I’ll try to schedule a post about our hottest peppers. 🔥I’ll have to write it down lest I forget. Thanks for the wonderful suggestion. 🙂

Cool pictures. The t-shirt game, I like the one with “I need it” ( I assume that is a coffee cup on the T-shirt ).
The hot source nozzles are a bit big for pouring hot source out. Hmm, I think you have to be very careful here 🙂

What game system do you use for the tee shirt game? It looks fun. I think it might be the same company that had a game called “You Don’t Know Jack” I played 20 odd years ago. I think it was on a Sega system then.
LikeLiked by 1 person
oh wow – the sega system – back in the day!!
and I think you can use the game on any system – they have the details when you buy it – and we know someone that played it on a firestick, a pc, and a mac – and then you use smart phones or pads (or computers) to individually join in

Thanks, I will look them up. It would be fun to play for holiday gatherings.
