Changing Seasons Challenge: April 2018 (and Sunday Trees)

As some readers have noticed, Priorhouse blog is moving a little slower with a spring break mode. To break this up a little, I have a post for the Changing Seasons Challenge.

For April 2018, I am again going with Photographic” with 5-20 photos from the month.

During April 2018, I had the chance to go to our local art museum (VMFA):

This shot reminds me of Homer’s painting called “Snap the Whip” – because of the hills, foreground details, nature vibe, red on green, children playing outdoors and their staggered placement and arms and legs, etc. (Just reminds me of it a little…. can you see why?? :0) )

In April, I had the chance to do a few art projects with some students. For one project, we used up some old music sheets (a piano play book from 1934) and the students designed a sheet with their artsy touch (using watercolor or ink):

We also had some of those typical April showers:

That help bring late April flowers:

And tree snow:

We also enjoyed quiet moments outside. (Doesn’t the outdoors feel so much better after winter?):

I did a lot of driving in April, and sometimes it is hard to see the forest through the trees cars:

Other times, clear roads are freeing

Cold beverages:

Hot bevs too:

And look, this lady has my “P” mug:

Now a closing comic, just for fun:

Well that is all for my changing seasons post.

Thanks for viewing and wishing you a wonderful day.

  1. Outdoors does indeed feel wonderful after the long winter. We actually have some warmth to sit out in too. Lots of fab photos here, Yvette. And good jokes too. Bless you!

  2. Hello Yvette, So good to see your post, a typical prior house blog post with lot of interesting content 🙂

Seems you had a very interesting time in April and the garden images are really refreshing 🙂

Hope you know that, the lady with the P mug is a well known Indian actor, Priyanka Chopra…

Hope to see more from your April travels 🙂

    Have a beautiful day 🙂

    1. He sreejith… many thanks for this comment – for some reason— some of my older posts had some comments
Where my reply never came. Sorry about that!

      1. Hello Yvette, I can totally understand that 🙂

As I check my blog in an inconsistent manner, it happens with me as well.

But, as there are very less activity here, I could go back and check all 🙂

Hope you and your near ones are all safe and in good spirits, during these tough times … The news from across the world is not so great and we are also under lock down in India.

        Take care 🙂

  3. Lovely post Yvette; I kind of have the opposite with outdoors. Summers can be so hot I don’t want to go outside, and I long for cool, fresh autumn. But of course our winters are pretty mild 🙂 Thanks for the funnies too 🙂

    1. sorry for my delay – and I know what you mean with some of the heat – because on certain humid and hot days – well the inside is a gift.

  5. Great photos, and I really liked the art work with the old sheet music. The staff meeting cartoon made me laugh. Ahhh – but to have the wittiness of a cartoonist!!

I echo the sentiment that the outdoors is SOOOO much better after a long winter!

  7. Looks like you’ve been out and about, Y. Lots of driving usually means new places to see and explore. Love that shot by the lake. So peaceful and looks warm too. A bit of warmth can make us feel so alive and full of energy.

        1. thanks sooooo much for the link
and i know what you mean with things to do.
and Amy M once told me that the “blogosphere will always be here” (something like that) and I have found it to be true – and sometimes blogging is better when we are fresh after making sure we do out stuff- right?

  8. Love the way you mix stuff up. It’s like your blog IS mixed media 🙂 You do it like no one else. Salamier is FAB, love the water reflecting and the lights on the road. Good stuff!

    1. Thanks so much Joey!
And was thinking of you all day yesterday because someone had a bag (it was their b0day) and it said “Happy birthday to Moo” with little cows – and of course I thought of your Moo!

  10. Loved the jokes, Yvette. 😀 The face statue is amazing and what a gorgeous setting for it! I so agree about the goodness of flowers. They do make up for a lot. xx
