Two for Tuesday (Virginia Beach, Virginia- PART 2)

Hello Readers – this is a Part 2  for my Virginia Beach, VA July 2018 pictures.

The first post (here) showed an ominous sky – but this next photo shows some of the jovial blue to be found (at times) – kind of like life, eh?

This photo shows the variety of people to be found at our local beach – nice diversity here –

This next photo also shows some of the diversity (two kinds of folks: civilians and soldiers):

Two bikers and two people bookend our quartet…

The manikins are inside and some are outside — as two girls walk on by
Dude one has twice the splash of bright color
Dude two has black and white going on

Two people rinsing off the sand (oh these little shower stations are most helpful)

This photo (with some rich history connections) is to share with Timeless lady – who is inviting bloggers to share photos of weathervanes – and this directional sign is “close” – but I was hoping to find one with a fish – like the next image.
Source for this one: Google images
Last two’s for this post – the concrete art that is somewhat new to this beach – – two sea snails.

__

Hope everyone is having a nice start to the weekend.

Do you have a picture from this post that you like the most?

I think I like the one of the two dudes and the quartet photo –

but I sure had fun thinking of my blog while grabbing photos.

Peace

  1. VA beach is a place that keeps coming up to mind to visit one of these days.
My favorite picture here is the walking boy with bright orange shirt. That was just the right moment. You captured his stride and a hint of smile on his face.

    1. Hi YC – thanks for the comment – and I actually was recording video at the time and he walked right into my frame. So I slowed it down to get a screen shot and really pondered like three different poses. I liked this screen shot for the two Nike swooshes on his shoes –
and the dude in white is also from video – a screen shot.

and if you ever make it to VA Beach – there is a lot to see.
However, we really miss the “non paid” street artists like the silver man and random singers.

  2. I love the weather vanes. That’s a first for me on top of a street sign. Terrific!

    1. Hi there- and that street sign is unique because it has the “distance” tp places around the world that connect to WWII (something like that…)

    1. That is how it was in the 1990s – we took a trip up the east coast and stayed in Virginia beach for an afternoon – our son1 was an infant and we captured some fun pictures. And then a few years later we find this is our local beach – wow – you never know what a day may bring forth…
and I do not get the “our quartet” part? can you elaborate

        1. oh, I meant “the Virginia Beach Live! on Atlantic paid quartet”
          not “our”
          ha!
and someone told me they have a budget to bring in street singers as a way to enrich the artsy vibe for folks. Rather than relying on street performers with random schedules and random content, I guess they have regular paid performers to entertain (kind of a good idea, eh?)

    1. haha – they are bright.
I have a pj shirt that has a splash of pink neon – but not too much –
and did you see the little thing on that guy’s waist? I thought it was a mask at first (those are showing up more and more with fancy patterns – but not sure?

  3. The first photo is so inviting, it makes me want to go for a walk on the beach. Hmm… I might just do that 😉 And the art one is interesting, I was about to ask what it was, but hey, one shouldn’t really ask that about art 🙂 😉

    1. Hi – we felt the same way when we walked up to the concrete art. lol – and “artist liberty” 🙂
they have an area with blue fish that did not get a photo of yet – but the concrete idea is kind of cool for the beach, eh? Durable at least
and if you took that walk – hope it was enjoyable

      1. I can see how that would go well with the beach area. We’ve got some odd beach-inspired art around here too, so I’m used to it. 🙂
And there was a change of plans, no more walking on the beach today, it started raining heavily. It’s cooking and writing instead, I managed to finish about a third of a multi-part post I’ve been thinking of for a while. 😉

    2. oh how fun – a multi-part post – looking forward to it.
and our rainy days have subsided (finally) so I am getting back out in the sunshine…

      1. I’m hoping it’ll be a fun post, and there’s going to be some talk about clothes too, so I think you might enjoy that 😉
I’m looking forward to spending some time in the sun too, a few lazy days on the beach would be nice. 😉

  4. Hi Y! They all have a unique allure. My fave, though, is the soldiers and civilians photo, because one solider is taking a phone photo of his mates marching in line ahead of him in the picture. The photo of the sister cities makes me think about why, why, why for these diverse locations? I hope you are having a great weekend, my friend.

    1. Hi Marky Mark – thanks for the nice comment – I have a little video footage of that soldier recording – he was also getting the people on the streets and just capturing some scrolling footage I think….
oh and I think the locations on the signs were mostly WWII related – not sure – 🙂

and hope your weekend is going well too – hard to believe that July 2018 is almost over
      🙂
