I put the milk in coffee first, so I don’t have to stir, but I like the tea to brew in water only. Nice collection of thoughts and images today. Those steaks look good.

That makes sense, Dan. Especially with the tea because it needs to brew – …

I know – but I plan to fix that soon L

That’s fascinating about the order of adding milk. I thought “milk in last”was so you didn’t burn it, but because it’s also a class thing, you Downton Abbey explanation makes so much more sense 😀

The burn it makes sense too ….

Tea does taste better in pottery! I did not know that tidbit about putting the milk in first so that the cup would not crack. Interesting.

I thought it was so
Interesting too and I guess the scene in downtown Abby had a lady ask for the milk/cream first and there was some tension as the entire table of folks noticed the class difference (something like that)

To me your husband’s sweet potato slices look the best. I was disappointed to hear they were medium good. They just reminded me of zucchini slices that I had at a restaurant recently. They were delicious.
Yes, I never had good feeling drinking hot coffee or warm food in styrofoam containers but I know they are still in used and I used to have hot coffee in styrofoam cups and food in (even melted) styrofoam containers before. Not these days, thanks to paper cups for coffee.

Your comment reminded me that we do seem to have less and less styrofoam “these days” but that night there was a stack of Styro cups (and one green mug)
And mmm to the sliced zucchini – glad they were good – 😉
And for 🍠 sweet potato snacking I think I like the wedges better – and only halfway cooked – so they’re firm and less sweet – ?

I do think I have tried the sweet potato snack. I think I like crispy ones. Firm and less sweet sound good to me too.

That is such a great price on a Monday $6 steak. Looks full sized too 😮 Sweet potato is amazing and yours look really nice. Mashing them with some bacon and fresh herbs is my go-to these days. Definitely drinking from a real cup beats drinking from a Styrofoam cup 😁

Hi M 😊 – the steak quality and size – both good and they had optional sauces (upgrade of 3$) and I tried the mushroom sauce which was double the amount needed – but savory
😉

$3 for sauces sounds a bit…pricey but I suppose you got double the amount needed so all good. That dip could have gone with fries if you got fries 🙂

Stale still life is good, I like it. I also like this shot for the bit of old time kitsch — lil of this, lil of that, like cleaning out someone’s poorly utilized china cabinet. I do NOT want to drink tea in Styrofoam. Nope. I mean, no one would ever choose that, but to me, even in paper, tea doesn’t taste right.

Thanks for the comment – like the lil of this and that
You are so right – and I don’t mind sipping already made tea from styrofoam (well I kind s little) but pouring that hot water and brewing the tea in styrofoam – ugh
