Sunday Trees & Landscape Photos (Lens-Artist #31)

the theme for the Lens-Artists Photo A Week Challenge is Landscape this week.

Here is my take: 

SUNRISE in my Virginia neighborhood (Fall 2018)
SUNSET in some Pennsylvania neighborhood (Fall 2016) I took this photo after going to a funeral in Buffalo, New York (Darrin passed away – post is here). I was able to see some family on the visit, which included seeing my nephew on the very last day. Little did I know that I’d be going to that same nephew’s funeral four months later. 😦

 

❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎This is my nephew, W, in the late 1990’s – when he visited us in Colorado – these photos were taken at Red Rocks Park. I feel like it was a nice coincidence that the word for the lens-artist this week was “landscape” because this week is the anniversary of his passing and I can have this little remembrance photo shared in honor of him. 🙂 ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎

And this photo is to join in with Cee’s B&W for Construction (November 2018 – Virginia). Seeing the construction underway is sometimes a nice reminder of how we “can” repair and preserve structures (and many things in life, eh?) – and it reminds me how adversity CAN lead to many good things – “we lose, but we also can have many wins.” And all things can work together “for” good….

  1. Love the landscapes and the tongue in cheek humour, Yvette! I hope we don’t see ordering speakers in remote areas, or uber eats, or such like. Wilderness areas are prized for being just that – wilderness, aren’t they?. Have a great Sunday.

  6. So sorry about your nephew but what a nice tribute. You’ve definitely got some beautiful landscapes here and those cartoons made me laugh! “Far enough into the wilderness, my cell phone died.” 😂 Oh, wait, that’s serious! 🙀

      – the first picture most reminds me of how timing matters – I was there at the right time that morning – it all rolled out within the hour

      1. yes, timing is super important. Early morning is best for those shots. I’m not a morning person at all. I appreciate seeing photos from those who are able to get up and out so early. 🙂

  13. I love that first shot. So many colors in the grass, such an amazing ceiling on those clouds. Beautiful. Must have been absolutely stunning standing there in person.
