Time for Art #5 (One Word Sunday:Puzzle and Jess Glynne song I’ll be There for You)

The theme for One Word Sunday is Puzzle. And like Bushboy, I also was a little puzzled about what to post.  

Then! I remembered it was time for another “art” post and I still have a copy of my Puzzles about Art book (such a little gem).

Time for Art.  

Maybe not the kind that leaves us puzzled, but here are some art pieces I have enjoyed recently:

 

#1 – I call this “In the mood for some sweet ol’ Arizona”

#4. This next painting also has a tree, but it is the thinking person that pulled me in. I call this one “Serenity”

The song for this One Word Sunday Post is another Jess Glynne song. We heard two singers this weekend and I told the one guy that his voice reminded me (a little) of Jess Glynne. I have only recently discovered her so I was not surprised he did not know of her music. Anyhow, here is the song I pulled up for him to listen to.

Check it out – Glynne’s voice is cool and the lyric content is good. (ooh, ooh, I’ll be there for you… I got enough love for two)

Okay, so you know I am going to see if you have a favorite art piece from this post.

I like them all, but in order I like 1, 4, 2, 3, and 5. Well I could change my mind tomorrow, but right now that is my preference.

  4. A wonderful post Yvette. I like Jess Glynne too, and she is now keeping me and my cup of tea company!
    Your book is great for the puzzle theme – so many puzzling questions on just those 2 pages, and I don’t have the answers!!
    And I really enjoyed your art selection. The Sedona sunset is calling to me, especially as I just featured a mural of Monument Valley that is trying to drag me back of to Arizona and Utah 🙂

      Oh and #3 is the one I keep changing my mind about- I like the clouds and then I don’t – then other things -hmmmm

    1. Right on… and how do you feel about the clouds. The arrangement is so orderly that it makes me pause – and then contrast that with the extra sway in the trees and I think we feel this artitst’s essence. You might be extra busy today so no hurry in reply – but look at the clouds again and let me know what you think.
      Also – wonder if it is Miami?

      1. The clouds are uniform and not like any that I see around here. However, they are cheerful and make me wish I was sitting under those swaying palm trees looking up at them. It reminded me of Miami, kind of has that vibe to it.

    1. Sylvia – that is what i wondered – maybe distant cousins. But with a name like that I would feel likeI had to try painting just to see if a bit of extra talent was there – lol

  12. My favorite order is: 4, 5, 3, 2 and 1. I can also have 4, 2, 3, 5 and 1 as well.

    Hmm, that is a bit surprising to know a man’s voice sounds like Jess’s Glynne. Her voice can some time deep but I still think it is still very female.

      THANKS for chiming in on the art – what I take from your two versions is that #1 is definitely your least fav and then #4 is your most – the other three vary – eh? especially 5 – bumps from 2 to 4….
      and regarding the guy singer’s voice – it was more of a sound he made that reminded me of Jess Glynne – because you are right – her voice is very female –
      but this Elliott singer almost had the yodel kind of thing – not totally the same – but when we met him I just told him that he reminded me of her a little bit – (made good small talk) and I will be sure to share some of his music soon. k?

  15. I would say 5 and 1. 5 actually makes me think of Asia and my past. We’re headed to Arizona soon so 1 makes me excited about the future. I checked out Glynn and went online to listen to a couple more. I dig the nitty gritty of her lyrics. And that art book looks pretty cool. I like the ketchup scheme. That’s funny. Thank you!

    1. well thanks for the visit and for chiming in about the art….
      I look forward to your Arizona posts once you get there (and I was trying to have a play on words with Sweet Home Alabama)
      and Glynn is not necessarily my generation (although so much music transcends to all) but I only recently heard her Thursday song (on Brit awards) and her voice is so original and fresh – and maybe I appreciate it a little more because it seems we are in the day and some power singers and studio enhanced vocal tracks – and so in the “Ill be there” one it was – um – raw and “nitty gritty” as you said…

      1. Dang it. I’m actually quite disappointed I didn’t get that. I am from Alabama after all. And you made want to go hear her two songs again. I think the most interesting part about her is her raw voice and her raw lyrics set against a pretty upbeat, studio, dance-like feel. Also interesting to read everyone’s differing reactions to her. That’s art for you.

  18. “Who spilled the paint” would look lovely in any room of my house and I would so hang it. Love it. It’s really the only one I’m fond of. I see the merit of two others, but for me it’s the steps and splotches, all the way.

    1. Hi j- you make s really good point with “what you’d hang” in the house because that says a lot.

      And I might love certain art pieces but not want to hang them / and I got this beautiful artsy vase for myself last summer – and hated seeing it in my house –
