Two-for-Tuesday (2 Street Shots and Circle Art)

This lady was super friendly. Notice the animal hat (so she was fun too). She had two coffees (so maybe servant minded) and a nice essence.

November 2018 – Richmond, VA

I met this man at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA). We were talking about how his blanket matched one of the large paintings upstairs. It was frigid cold on this day and his long-time, caregiver girlfriend joined in a photo opp. I guess he used to work at the museum many years ago. He is now disabled because MS has slowly taken away his health. Reminds us to be grateful for so many little things, eh?

Speaking of the art museum, this next photo is a painting that is currently hanging at the VMFA. It was one that I wanted to show bushboy after he posted a brightly colored circle last month

Let’s close out with some comics (from Chris’ Monday Funnies).

Hope your Tuesday is great.

P.S. I am unplugging for the rest of this week and so this is a scheduled post.

Please feel free to leave any feedback because I shall be back this weekend.

P.P.S. One more comic (forgot where I found this last week – if it was your blog – thanks!)

and let’s nit-pick here…. add a comma after day and after son perhaps? “One day, Son, all this will be yours.”

      1. We did it over time. It was after my dad died. It wasn’t stuffed to the gills, but he had things tucked away everywhere. Then, my mom had a problem that required us to empty her basemen in just a few days. That was hard.

    1. oh sorry about the basement – and I guess the good news is that once we get done doing it – well it is usually done.
My mom recently got rid of a ton of stuff. I was so proud of her. But I had to laugh – because when we sent a couple hundred glasses to the thrift store (they got tucked away into this corner cupboard – she was like “Oh no, I have to keep some beer glasses (she does not drink, smoke, or swear) and I was like, “Oh really?” and it was for when her children and grandchildren visit – she likes to have the tall thin beer glasses for them – and I thought – “that is being a sweetheart”
so we kept four tall glasses (and i took a photo cos it was a fun moment)

    1. yes – the man liked the blanket and he actually had two warpped around him – and both blankets had art connections.
and hope your weekend is going well
      🙂

  2. Thanks for an uplifting and funny post, Yvette. It’s cheered me up on a miserable Tuesday, feeling too far away from the next weekend. Seems like you came across some lovely characters with stories to tell, and I love their smiles. Great cartoons too – made me giggle, which is always welcome! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

    1. Hi YC – and after coming from your last post – I like the reminder of the “sweet things” in life too.
and that last comment has a lot of psychology in it – 🙂

  3. That garage reminds me of several rooms, the garage and the basement in my house right now. Every day I get up and say this is the day I conquer this mess. Sigh…not done yet though…maybe tomorrow.

      1. No…no weather vanes in the basement. I did manage to get a bit done. The basement is still a mess, and the garage disaster, but most of the rooms have been cleared of my stacks of stuff.

    1. Thanks -she was super cool and so I asked for a photo
and not an official break – I am just trying to only post once (or not at all) during the week right now – so we will see how it goes
