Changing Seasons March 2019 (Art, Street Shots, Trees, Pet-Love)

Hello Everyone,Happy Sunday Readers,

Hard to believe that March is almost gone.

Today, I am joining in with Su’s changing seasons photo share.

Had some anniversaries this month (March is packed with milestones)

This sign says “There be no candy food” – ha – and Actually – there “do be” candy food – see the next photo
– tiramisu cake pops this month – whew! way too sweet – but it WAS “candy food” and a little went a long way.

Got some fresh art in this month. This small exhibit featured John Grant’s (here) flower art.
John Grant “Skyward”

Went to the VMFA with a small group – and this is Edgar pointing….
Some readers might recall that Fat Tire is a memory beer for the Prior family – dating back to 1993 – and with many stories. So I sent this pic to my brother-n-law (linked to One Word Sunday: Vertical here)
Richmond Lager is nice for out of towners (this guy took a photo of our group for us). This beer is really light – but I cannot drink beer anymore – my body does not like it.
I met this person last week – going by the name Lacy – we talked briefly – and when I met him – a lady was condemning him. I think she meant well – I really do – but her harsh judging was wrong. before she places her values on his life- she should love him and get to know hhis story first. I do not want to get into the topic right now – but I told him that God loves him “as-is” and reminded him to not let her harsh admonishing words get to him. And I do believe that with all my heart that God loves us ALL, as-is, and this person was really sweet – and is obviously in a very sensitive time of life – and so maybe a little love people – just sayin’
March also involved meeting new bloggers – as noted before – and this photo reminded me of “so a nut hatch” – um – I mean, Squeak of a Nuthatch. Lindsay, thanks for what felt like a B-12 shot. 🙂

This dog was sitting quietly in the car when I pulled up at the store. He was still there, sitting quietly in the back seat, when I left the store (it was nice and cool outside and the dog was chilling out). The special part is that this pup had the mannerisms to our old dog, Steve (RIP-spring 2018) – and it still brings a smile – I showed the family and everyone agrees that he is “so like” our previous pup.
Getting more animal love in my life -(see Joey – I have pet therapy here and there) – well this lady across the hall from my father-n-law (at his retirement center) – has two cats and this one sometimes likes to see “what or who” is outside the door. Kitty-kat kinda fun.

This sign is also fun….
Love the message here: “Fight the urge to remain indoors – Life is short – stay awake for it” – And yes, I did get outdoors, which included a few walks – and in the next photo we also see signs of journaling with java in the sunshine (one of my favorite nice-weather activities).

I turned around to go back and grab this photo – it looks sweeter in real life – the minty green of the house SINGS with the white-green color of the blooms (eye candy). Linked to Becca’s Sunday Trees.
This is my favorite photo of the month…. Taken on an early morning walk (that I really did not want to take – ugh) – And my hubs reminds us that “walking is so underrated for the potent exercise it is” – I know some of you love to walk – but others find it boring – that is… until we get out and get going….
Just having a little more fun here. Sorry to my British friends – we would never be this disrespectful if we met the royal family in person.

  1. What a fun filled month. Love the doggie in the car, looks so sweet-the paw under the door reminded me of my days with cats- so funny. Why is it some people feel the need to judge and to actually confront someone with their judginess?? Amazing. So wrong. Thanks for sharing your month!!

    1. Thanks for visiting – and judginess was exactly what it was – and not with a spirit of care, love, or even concern for knowing their story.
And with the cat – at times – “both” paws come out- it is so much fun (ahhhh the little things in life)

  2. Looks like you’ve been very busy and enjoying every minute. Posing with the royals especially fun!

  3. A good vertical choice, Yvette – I enjoy a Fat Tire beer 🙂
And I also like the image of the Plensa head at VMFA. I saw one of his heads in Bordeaux and the design is fascinating

    1. thanks Deb – and how awesome you saw his work in Bordeaux – I am enjoying seeing art from around the world via your blog posts

  4. It’s so difficult to actually get up, go out, and start walking sometimes, but once you do, it’s awesome. I struggle with that myself.

    Great photos.

    1. Tara – that is exactly what i was trying to say.
why – why why is it so difficult to just get our butts out there – cos then it is “alive”

      1. Our brains are nutty. Like thinking getting take-out is easier than cooking, but getting take-out involves placing an order, getting in the car, going to get it, coming back, etc. It’s the same amount of work, in a different way, and isn’t good for me. *sigh*

    2. wow – that example of the work with take-out was good.
and side note – we hardly eat out anymore because of the bad industrial oils most places use – and we just prefer food at home – crazy

    1. Dan! I actually thought of your contrail (recent one) when I put this in the post – I did not even see it that morning – just saw the orange and branches 🙂

  5. How very much fun. I feel those who are harsh judges forgot to look in the mirror that morning. Regardless of the type of sin, confronting it with bitterness is wrong as well as stupid. God says love them all – then he will fix what needs fixing.
Love the dog in the car. Dogs love riding in the car I always think that is so funny.

    1. Hi Anita – well said on the judging – and it really brought out my advocate side because the lady was harsh –
and the condemning without loving or even giving a shit about the person has to stop.

and I sorta wonder if this dog oculd have been from the same litter as our dog – maybe not – but I grabbed thrity second of video and may family were laughing at how the mannerisms were similar to our black dog – the way he looked away and seemed to have a passive, loving, vulnerable, straight-ahead stare
      🙂

  6. Looks like you’ve had a fun month. I love that first sign; think I need one in my kitchen to remind me to eat better.

I really like John Grant’s paintings; thanks so much for sharing your photos from that exhibition.

    1. Hi Su – I think a few of us could use that sign for the kitchen – hahah

and the month started off with getting caught up on sleep (got rid of my sleep debt)
and not sure how to show that in a photo – but I almost used this (do you remember this flower picture that reminded me of bed head after a good night’s sleep)

    1. Because I was healing from seafood parasite and gut issues (like candidiasis) and even tho mostly healed – it is hard to
      Eradicate and takes years

-also – beer is not always gut friendly –
So instead I have lots of kombucha and it is a healthy replacement

  7. 🙂 Wow. Thank you. You often astound me with your kindness.

Thank you also for the intro to John Grant. Skyward is sublime.
The funny signs take me back. My favorites were “Empey Cans” at a recycling station and “No Parking for a long time” at a metered spot.
The little cat paw under the door touches my heart. Reminds me of the late, great Toad, our feline daughter of 20 years. They are funny little creatures.
Your pic with the Royals is great, but your caption makes it.

Thank you again, for your thoughtfulness and for the fun read. Happy April!

    1. I was going to say the same thing in regards to the cat’s claw – I love it too. I’ve seen that so many times over the years with all of the cats I’ve owned – it always makes me laugh.

    2. Oh Toad is a fun name
And I grabbed 30 seconds of video of the cat – can heat some purr (i need to eventually add some video snippets like you – but baby steps here – ha)
And L, the cat paws have been there a couple
Times but the very first time was after a tough visit with a grump – he has god days and bad days – and that was a tough night and so coming out to the paws and playing for a minute with a soft laugh was just what the doctor ordered –
Oh and love the “no parking for a long time”
      Ha

  8. “She places her values on his live” – well said. If only people stopped doing that, the world would be much be much nicer a place.
And now I think I’d like to give those tiramisu cake pops a try. 🙂

  9. What a wonderful collage of photos — Animal therapy is KEY to many — especially me! The glorious white blooms are a delightful sight. Thank you for sharing all of them.

  10. Nice post. Great pictures.

I like the fact that you got a chance to encourage Lacy despite the woman admonishing him. We need to walk in other people’s shoes and listen, really listen, to their stories before casting judgement. Glad you were there to share some nice words with him.

My favorite pic was of the coffee cup because of th saying written on it. “Fight the urge to remain indoors” – I couldn’t agree more.

  11. Such a great collection of photos, Yvette. I love the dog, bless it, and all the characters and sights you’ve seen. Those funny signs and their translations made me laugh, and it reminded me of a book I once read of English marketing slogans and signs that have been translated to other languages, then back into English to show how much is lost in translation. One I’ve never forgotten is a slogan for Coca Cola, which read “Coke adds life”, and it was translated into Japanese, but it came back into English as “Bite the wax tadpole” ! Don’t ask me how it ended up like that, but it made me laugh for years. 🙂 And please don’t think we Brits would be offended by the photo of you with the royal family – it made me laugh out loud too! Thanks for making me smile. Great and very entertaining post. 🙂

    1. Oh Alli – thanks so much for the laugh with “Bite the wax tadpole” – sooo good
and I might just need to use that in some sort of post coming up soon –

  12. I enjoyed everything about this post. Great pics and wonderful sentiments. I adore being outdoors all year long in all types of weather. Having a dog that requires two miles walk minimum has converted me into a walk lover. Great post.
