last fall – used this “already used” brush to apply some varnish and it ate the bristles

It does make you wonder what in the world happened to that brush? Looks like the kind of brush you spread melted butter with.

haha – laurie – you are so right- now i can see that it does look like a chef’s brush- but this was just used for some varnish – and it was such a cheap brush that the varnish ate away the bristles. So i took a photo before tossing

That’s a very interesting photo, Yvette. It took me a while to figure out what it was (I should have read the comments first). Great idea to snag a picture on the way to the dustbin.

That is exactly how it went down. The lighting was not the best but added to the mood.
I took two more pictures of brushes yesterday – but these were good ones and they were cleaned – so I will post them another time –
