Six Street Shots from April 2019 (Pull Up A Seat Week 35)

Hello Readers – I have some street shots from April 2019 to share as I join in with Pull Up A Seat Challenge

(here with XingfuMama).

1) Spring Lunch (Richmond, VA)
2) Dinner and Theatre ((Richmond, VA)
3) Chilling with Coffee (My hubs is in middle – he was unplugged for a dew days back in April)(Richmond, VA)
4) Nice Driver. This bus driver was dropping off actors and dancers for a play. He was so pleasant to shat with. He reminded me that not everyone who gets old is bitter and stagnant. Nope! – some folks ease into older years with joy and class. This guy was one of them.(Charlottesville, VA)
5) Plasma Gal. I gave this young lady a ride back in April. I am pretty careful about doing things like this (just FYI) but I felt led to – she was at the Wawa (which I never go to anymore because the parking lot is too crowded). Anyhow, we chatted on the ride. She was going to donate some of her plasma for a bit of money. (Richmond, VA)

6) Scrolling and Smoking. We went to see Jason’s band (The Mashup) play back in April. While leaving – this sitting lady’s shadow caught my eye. She was having a seat while scrolling her phone and grabbing a smoke. (Midlothian, VA)

  4. I really enjoyed each picture for different reasons! In your first two pictures the art is really striking to me. Such vivid warm hues that draw you into the picture itself. I also liked the white brick as a backdrop behind the second painting. I just realized that the coffee shop pic with your husband also has art in the background. I like how contemporary the setting feels. It reminds me of a coffee shop right by the university back home. The bus driver looks so professional and it was a nice photo that you were able to take. Plasma girl looked really sweet and the shadow play was fun because I wasn’t sure what I was looking at at first.
    On another note, I started reading “A Mind of Your Own” by Dr. Brogan. Thank you for recommending me to her. It makes me thankful that I never ended up going on meds. I am looking forward to reading and learning more.

    1. Hi – I really enjoyed your comment – and did not even plan on having the art sync like that in the first three pics – but it kind of does.
      and photo #3 is my favorite coffee shop in the area – I like to go there when my mother visits – and the staff is so nice.

      also – so glad you are enjoying “A Mind of Your own” book by Dr. Kelly Brogan – I am still only 25% through the book – I keep skimming it and think I need to sit down and just read it all.
      but it is nice to read a little and then just chew on it – anyhow, I look forward to comparing thoughts when we both finish the book – I am shocked at how much I agree with (and learn from) Dr, Brogan 🙂

      1. I really enjoy the variety in your blog post, content, themes, and pictures. Every post always has a nice surprise 🙂

        I am enjoying Dr. Brogan’s book a lot. I also read little by little to let it sink in. Right now I just read about a chapter a day sometimes less before bed. Thanks for pointing me in a really great direction. I enjoy reading, but again there is so much information that it can be hard to discern dependable sources that our worth our time.

    1. what is a “shat”?
      and here is the scoop = the hubs and I were sitting on a bench – I took a few photos and things were real quiet until the bus pulled up – and then the actors all walked across our path ((I will share those photos later))
      and so the bus driver was out of the bus when I started chatting with him – he got on the bus – and I walked over to get a photo of the bus door (maybe for a Thursday doors post) and he invited me to come on for a sec
      is that a shat?

  6. Hi Yvette, It is always nice to be around people that are pleasant and professional such as your bus driver. I don’t believe age is a determining factor in this. I like how you organized the photos with Plasma Gal. Almost looks like a still shot plus action shots. A successful day:)

  8. I actually liked all of these street photos. Everyone one of them so candid and a depiction of our everyday lives. Did you know the people eating in photo (2)? I noticed your blurred out faces – completely understand how some people don’t want their faces plastered over the internet, and you’re very considerate.

    Very kind of you to give someone a ride. Yes, you go to be careful about these things but sometimes you just feel it will be all okay.

Hi Mabel – no, I did not know the ladies dining – and the older ladies blur – thank for noticing – and I just felt led to do that – not sure why – maybe because I feel like out on the street is more fair game but grabbing that inside photo while they were dinging was more private – and I did not even mean to photo them – I was truly going for the art and later saw they made it in…
      and whew – truly have to be careful with letting strangers in the car –

  9. Great street pictures you have.. You have courage to get pictures of these people. Many times, I would like to get pictures of people you came to see them while you go about but I do not have enough courage to do so. Great!

    1. thanks YC – and I guess I do have the courage for this – although sometimes I am not in the mood – so I have come to appreciate it when I am in the mood to take such street shots – and I guess we all have different strengths or moods – eh?

  12. I like them all, but number one and two is fabulous. I sometimes crave doing street shots…but then I feel so bad because the shots I really want to take are often controversial. Here in Las Vegas there’s plenty of spectacular beings to photograph..LOL. Do I need to ask for permission? Or should I not? I always question myself about that. I known depends on the shot. Maybe its just me personally disliking being in photograh’s so much, that I hesitate capturing strangers? I enjoyed this post very much.

      And I continue to wrestle with “street photography” and my own approach –
      And recently deleted some o felt uncomfortable with – but I have grown into being comfortable with it because I feel like it can celebrate humanity – I follow numerous bloggers that feature street photography and to be it is a celebration of humans and also culture rich as we see changing clothes – hairstyles – body art – moods – etc.
      —
      And I bet you see some amazing potential for street shots but I wonder if there are special rules for the Las Vegas area because what happens there is supposed to stay there (half kidding)
