Coming back from D.C., we saw this car on the road.

An artsy looking gal was driving it – not sure what it is (and no – was not driving when photos taken)

  2. Sometimes you just have dark cloud that follows you everywhere. But if you drive to try to escape it, it sheds it’s rain and becomes white in hot pursuit, I guess.

  4. I love that piece of music, Yvette. Thank you. I loved the movie it’s from. I laughed so hard. Watched the movie numerous times. Haven’t seen it for a while now, but it still makes me laugh out loud when I think of it. Steve Martin was hilarious.
    The car with the white top – I think it’s an iceberg for an artistic or dramatic installation.
    Best wishes for your time away, getting on with more important things. Enjoy!

      and you might be correct about being part of an installation – it almost looks as if it was permanently on the car – but likely in transport

      1. The movie is All of Me. It was made in 1984 and starred Lily Tomlin and Steve Martin. I don’t know how funny it would be to watch for the first time now, but back then I thought it was hilarious, especially when Steve received Lily’s spirit. 🤣😉 This is a link to the scene, if it works. https://youtu.be/LkS3fUImcZE

    1. Thanks T – it is SO hard to cut the blog cord – the first few days are hard for me – but then I am able to flow well – and wishing you a great week ahead

    1. I know – but we really wanted to get home – and in hindsight I wish i would have grabbed a photo of the driver – someone with short pink/brownish hair and cool earrings – but did the best I could to grab these pics (I was a passenger)

    1. appreciate the comment shelley because that is what i was hoping for – I actually had a “walking out 2019” post almost used as the break send off – but ti did not fit and so I was hoping a “two for tuesday” one would be a nice resting post (and yikes – blog pauses are hard because I miss my bit of routine with online peeps – but sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do, eh?)

    2. Hi Shelley – maybe sometime you (or i) can post about taking blog breaks. (Because you know I love some of your other “about blogging” posts)
      but here is what I have learned about different ways to take blog breaks.
      1) jump into a blog break cold turkey. That means the break happens because life gets busy or we just get pulled away (like maybe your project – or to read – write or paint or work etc.) I have had a few cold turkey ones. I think these cold turkey, unplanned breaks are the ones that can be useful – and sometimes it means you cannot even reply to comments and we sorta “ghost” for a while – hah
      2) Take a scheduled blog break. Like take a week off every three months. I know a glad that took all of January off after the holidays. I used to take the summer off and it ended up being too long.
      3) Take breaks when burnout sets in or when getting cranky. or when it feels like the current or black hole has swallowed
      4) take a break to get misc. stuff done – and come back to blog as a way to reward yourself. That is what I am doing – but I am also easing into my blog break – because some of my “to do” stuff had to do with some blog clean up and another blogger I was helping. I got five things checked off my list today.
      — anyhow, please (later on) let me know if you have thoughts to share on blog breaks

      1. Excellent tips, and YES – I need to write a post about it soon, I’m ready for a break of some kind. I’ll be sure to ‘collaborate’ with you on it. I’ll have to wait until you return though…! Maybe I should go on break RIGHT NOW! 😉

  15. Well I’ve looked at the car ornament and it looks like an igloo doghouse but it is likely something more interesting than that. Enjoy the walk, and the break – happy trails to you Yvette.

      1. I’ve seen them for large dogs, but it could have been an igloo made of plastic for a Winter display (though would that be PC to do a display about Eskimos)? I live near a park that has a big Christmas display every year and has done this as long as I’ve lived here (1966). Once I worked as a volunteer to help set it up. Last year I looked at an online video of the holiday display. Exact same items they had 50+ years ago when I volunteered there. In fact, one was an igloo with two Eskimos rubbing noses. They have a huge parking lot and one year we had a snowstorm early in December. I was bound and determined not to lose any walking steps, so I walked over there and did laps in their huge parking lot to get my steps in. Any port in a storm sometimes. 🙂

    1. Hi diane – I have seen those dog houses too – but they were rounder with nothing protruding – but maybe this is a pet trainer and the animal can climb on those??

    1. thanks – still logged on as I finish up some check-ins and tackle of few “to do” things that had to with the ol blog world – (my to do list was getting too big this month – ) and you know – I guess there are are blog breaks that happen instantly and others that we ease into _ 🙂

    1. Hi again – I am going to check out that movie soon – and Steve Martin’s inspiring story was mentioned in either the Atomic Habits book or the Time Ferriss one – how he worked at Disney and really hustled – I cannot recall which book – hmm – what coincidence for her to mention that book
      —
      also – I could likely catch up on stuff without a blog pause – because my posts do not take too much time (I have learned how to watch the Black Hole current that can suck guys away – ha) but I think they can also help us stay fresh and then can break up routine a bit – 🙂

      and side note – if you want a blogger to get notified when you mention them – you have to add a link to a post and not their main blog link. If you link a recent post – they usually get a pingback. If it is the blog you link – they get nothing… that is a flaw for the WordPress community and maybe the powers to be can fix it –
