Light Squares: The Final Week

Hello readers, as some followers have noticed- Priorhouse is taking some blog breaks. Much needed — but also trying to complete a work in progress (WIP) and hoping to have a summer book release (fingers crossed — and Trent – might be joining you if you do a summer book release….)

This post was created to join in with Becky’s Light Challenge for the final week in January; however, the blog pause started and so a slight delay.

Before we get to the light photos, wanted to share this special “Simplify Your Life” post from GALLIVANCE BLOG

Click here to enjoy this 2019 post from Gallivance Blog: Sage Simplicity Stories: 51 Thoughts to Simplify Your Life. Tips 15, 23, and 33 were some of my favs – but so many little tidbits to soak up. 🙂
Sunlight showing chemicals. The label on the water bottle matches the chemical rainbow.  This is the kind of stuff we need to start cleaning up and putting an end to – especially the senseless “single use” plastic water bottles. More folks need to “Just Say No” to single use plastic water bottles. And maybe we should “shame” folks that still use them?

Spotlight at the WWII Memorial

Fountain Lights
Car lights
Signage-lights —— after the rain…. I like the lights in this random photo – and I like the three horizontal sections – and lastly – like the way the colors – yellow, bit of orange etc shine thru

Lamp lights at Virginia Beach Navy Memorial

 lights at IKEA

Here is the full IKEA lights shot: The people on the right change the mood in the full photo compared to the cropped version without them – don’t ya think?
Sunset light and porch light. Above the door it says “town hall” – must be a small town.

Lamp lights – This was one of the first photos I took for the January light theme after Becky announced it….  and now it turns out to be my last entry for the January Lights Square photo challenge. :0) Thanks for hosting Becky….and thank you for reading

Hope everyone has a wonderful week – and please wish me good focus as I work on my WIP…

  1. I love your photos, as always, Yvette! My favorite was the sunset over town hall scene! 💜 I’m going to miss you here, but am taking a slight “blog fast” myself, due to busy life right now. Maybe things will slow down soon…Hope the WIP goes well! Will be praying!

  3. Yvette,

It’s great to see you roaming the WP grounds. As for a blog break, you do you , as the saying goes.

Yanno, I never thought I would be so intrigued by a shot of a Walmart! But I kept going back to that one. National Monument? Exceptional. WW2 Memorial? Outstanding. Fountain lights? Brilliant. And yet . . I kept going back to Walmart, LOL.

As for the two IKEA shots, yes! It’s a totally different story cropped and not cropped.

    1. Thanks for the specific feedback – and esp the note on the Walmart shot – I felt that way when it was in my library – went back to it —

  4. Yvette, lovely to see you back and how exciting about your WIP! Good luck with this!

Lovely photos and I’m smiling at the one from Ikea! You are right, the atmosphere evoked is starkly changed when the people are in the image.

  5. Good luck with your WIP, Yvette, and focus, focus, focus! I’m at a similar point, working on something new that I hope to publish early summer, if all goes well, so that’s a cool coincidence 🙂 Let’s hope we make it. ❤

    1. Yes Anna – here is to focus for you also!! And if a few of us have a summer release – maybe we can make our own little blog hop – I have seen this done before – we can chat more as it gets closer – just an idea.

      1. Thanks, Yvette! So far, it’s going well and I don’t want to take a break for fear of losing momentum 🙂 you know how it is.
The blog hop might be a good idea, I’ve seen them done too. We’ll keep in touch.
        Happy writing! 🙂 ❤

    1. Hi dawn – thanks for the nice comment and I am exited to share – I have two works in progress – both started last year but my “rib injury” derailed everything last year.
One book is poems and fiction – small work that is enjoyable
The other one is aimed at being a counseling resource and has ten dimensions – and Dawn – I will share more with you as it unfolds 😉

    1. Thanks so much – and the blog break for the WIP comes also when I needed a short pause (you know – the kind of pauses that keep us fresh) so it was win-win. But I must admit that blog pauses are hard at first – it is like a part of us loses two batteries – but I know the value of it and so push on!
Hope you Have a great rest oof the week JT

  6. Hey, I read that Gallivance post as well. 🙂 I had to smile at your Walmart photo, as I recently posted one of these – also at night – on my own blog as a place where we sometimes “camp”. I hope you are enjoying your blogging break and I look forward to reading about your (finished!!) WIP.

  7. Good stuff. 🙂
Now about the plastic bottles, I’ve seen in Babgkok, where the tap water is not… reliable, there are machines at almost every corner, where you can fill your water bottle with purified water for almost nothing. That way, people recycle their water bottle. We can learn form everyone…
(What’s WIP? If I may ask?)

  8. Yvette, thank you so much for the shout out. What a wonderful surprise! 🙂 James and I are both honored and appreciate your very kind words. I’m sorry we didn’t see this sooner – our notifications button has been misbehaving. I’m so glad that the Simplify Series resonated with you. Thanks so much for contributing to the series. All the very best, Terri
