This week, the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge is to share some morning photos while adapting to the “new normal” of COVID-19.
Today’s photos are all from Virginia. We have been staying home to do our part to flatten the curve. However, last week we went to pick something up and had a walk around – so I grabbed some photos.

Thanks for checking out this post.
My WIP’s are going fine. I am working on some writing projects this spring, which means pulling back from the blog to “get it done” – ugh. I miss my blogging mode because this social media outlet can be such a nice support system. However, breaks are important – especially when tackling projects. — I should have something tangible to share by this summer. Please stay tuned – because I look forward to sharing the finished products. In fact, it encourages me now – to think of the coming sharing days – it encourages me because sometimes things feel like they take extra long. 🙂
Hope you have a great rest of the week.

A lovely set of interesting shots, Yvette. It would be interesting to see a companion piece of these locations when ‘normal’ has returned. Stay safe and well, and I hope your projects go well for you.
Nice post.
For me the juxtaposition of emptiness and the abundant glory of spring has felt odd this year. There is a simple beauty in the empty spaces, but it seems to better match the mood of winter and the bright flowers seem to call us out of hibernation. On the flip side having the warmth and beauty to look at helps stave off depression. My son, who lives in China, was locked down for all of February and March and he was pretty depressed. by the time it was over. The grey winter weather didn’t help.
Good luck on your projects.
Hi again – it rained for three days this week and I was having cabin fever bad…. and so I can relate a bit to what your son went through – and hope he is hanging there and doing fine.
and the spring beauty sure does infuse our soul.
oh and I should have added a funny line about how some of the flowers seemed to be pulling away – were they social distancing too – lol
Some pretty flowers there. I love the empty streets where there should be people and the lone walkers. Truly captures what this time is and will be remembered as… Good to document that. Stay safe!
Oh, thank you so much for the photos of Richmond! We missed our usualy spring trip down there due to the Coronavirus crisis. I really enjoyed seeing the city vicariously through you!
Good to see you in this space, I had been wondering how things were going, glad to read that you were off working on some other projects. Lovely photos, a good collection representing what is going on right now.
Take care,
Amy
A very accurate collection showing our days now – love the entrance and the solo facials. I agree with Clive above – some of these when we are back to (something like) normal would be nice. Good luck with your other projects!
Hi Yvette, sorry I’ve been away. Life got too hectic, studying too heavy a load and now all this with an autistic kid to cope with who can’t understand why his world has been turned upside down. Pretty much had to stop blogging for a while. Still, I’m hoping to catch up a bit more now, and wanted to say hi.
An intriguing post, and a fascinating snapshot of life over there in the weirdest of times. Take care and stay well. ❤ 🙂
Hi YC, the shop was actually closed for the day – most photos in this post were taken this month – but that photo was taken back in mid-March – right around the time it was optional to close – but everyone was starting to discuss it more and more. So this was more of an after hours photo – rather than pandemic – but thought it fit. I assume this person is waiting on someone to close up – or not.
thanks for the visit and comment
oh and I am wondering what things will be like too.
Here are a few things we know
– Japan will have more tech and at home resources – I guess they have the least compared to other countries – so that will be fortified for the for sure –
– toilet paper sales will slow
– Zoom fatigue will be replaced with more get together – but will we ever shake hands again? hmmmm?? what do you think?

Hope so. I hope slow is the key word and people still wear their masks and social distance. We’re only nearing the end of the beginning. Stay safe!

A good question whether we will ever shake hands again. Hmm. I am not sure but I think people might expand their personal space then ever before.
