Leftovers: Doors and Quotes

Hello readers, doing a little early November cleaning and wanted to share these leftovers from a folder. Doors and quotes

Did a quote stand out to you from this post? I like the idea about how “a trouble is what you make it” and maybe how we go about dealing with it – and maybe the layers with some of the doors synced with some of the thoughts in the quotes today.

I also liked the “correct mistakes and continually improve” idea – and lastly, the note about how the little things add up: “smiles, kindness, and small obligations” – are good reminders.

  1. All of the quotes here are great! I am sure you may have heard “if you don’t make a mistake then you do not do your work”. I also like this one as making mistakes are common. However that leads to the quotes in this post.

  2. Good quotes and doors. Maybe those quotes will be enough to help us open today’s doors and even get us through those doors safely. Without bruised posteriors. Doors at times can be a dangerous transition…

  3. I like all the quotes, Yvette. 🙂 That being said, attitude is so important in so many ways and that’s something over which each individual can exert a great deal of control, if s/he only does. If everyone tried to have a good attitude, an attitude of kindness and understanding, just imagine how different our world would be!!

  4. Trouble is generally made a lot worse by a defeatist attitude, that’s for sure. Most of what we fret about (and I am much guiltier than most) can be handled and is not fatal! Love those Hopper style urban shots!

    1. Hi JT – I like what you said about not being fatal – also – I was not at all thinking Hopper – but not that you mention it – I can feel his stillness kind of vibe. – with the people in the last shot and then the lighting in other ones – pretty cool because you helped me see them in a new light 🙂

  5. I loved the photo of 1441 E Street, Yvette. So much to love in that photo, even the palindrome address. As the queen of mistakes, I love the quote making mistakes the norm and the time spent correcting them a noble act. Ah, that makes me feel relieved. I spend an awfully lot of time in life redoing. It also makes me more forgiving when someone makes such a blooper towards me. I complimented a friend I hadn’t seen for a while on her beautiful gray hair – she’d let it grow out since I’d seen her and it was stunning on her. “Oh yes,” she said. “I was lucky and got my mother’s hair. My dad has that ugly yellow gray color of hair.” (My hair couldn’t be more yellow/gray if it tried.) I teased her a little. I’m not sure she realized even then what she had said, but I thought it was a good blooper. 🙂
