Did any street shots stand out to you?
Did any of the signs?
I like one about “bacon seeds” (left column, second one down)
Author Update
Was just at A&D’s blog and they had an amazing post here about “just one person in a photograph from around the world” – really cool post if you have time to check it out

I liked the smiling biker, and the bacon seeds. I think the beach shot is wonderful, but hardly a street scene 🙂

hi derrick –
the smiling biker was a surprise when i view the photos later
and
– i agree – we will call it a beach shot but leave it in for today’s leftovers – like a slice of leftover pizza with that shepard’s pie jackie might make – ha

Oh, I hope you will share some of your street shots in my challenge! Intentional or un-intentional they all have a story to tell, don’t they!

This time I didn’t have a lot of photos pre-prepared so I won’t be able to use up my leftovers using your clever use of the word 🙂

hi bb – sounds like you had a succinct approach for this month’s squares – i had to stop prepping mid month (had some time and was making a folder with options) and glad i did or i might have had too many
good day and TTYS

Oh yes it was a tight ship alright. I would wonder, sometimes into the late afternoon, what am I going to post in squares today? 😀 😀

A great set of photos – what a mixture! Another one of those language things in the funnies: here, you’d have to be doing the Hokey Cokey to turn yourself around, as hokey pokey is a Scottish name for ice cream 😉

ahhhh
thanks for that but of info
did not know it meant ice cream
and so hokey cokey it is

One of my musical heroes is Richard Thompson. In his earlier days (early-mid 70s) he made some albums with his then wife, Linda, and Hokey Pokey was the title track of one. I saw them play it live, and they explained it for the benefit of their English audience!

Great street shots! I’ve got to admit, though, my favorite is the beach scene! Wouldn’t mind being the couple on the beach about now! Those signs always make me laugh. Something that doesn’t happen nearly enough these days! Take care and be safe!

hi linda – i would like to be in that beach right now too!
and cheers to the smiles and daily laughs and maybe we all get more of them

I guess you could debate the last one, if it is a street shot or not, I would tend to think it does count in that category. Of your shots here, it is my favorite.

thanks amy and hope you had a njce month so far
i think i will add that photo tsk the category of beach shots but leave it in a leftover post because maybe like food leftovers – we can mix and match as needed

I have to say the beach shot stood out for me. Perhaps it’s the months of winter yet ahead. hopefully the signs of closed for COVID will end while businesses still have time to recover.

hi sure
that is my thought exactly – that they can recover while there is still time to make a recovery !
and cheers to sharing a little beach uplift with the ocean shot – ☀️😊

I wonder about mattresses being on sale all the time, too. How can that be? Or more importantly, what exactly is the profit margin on them?

ally!
i fully agree and when we were at a cousin’s house up north (a while back) they said how many thousands there mattress and box spring cost and we’d were like huh? went up to see them too (cos she offered) and well i wonders the profit margin too

Some interesting captures here, Yvette. The door . . it sums up the year of COVID. And the biker being “sawed in half” by the tree. And that orange shirt on the old fella, it really stands out.

hi
janis for the specifics because it made me notice a few things – you are so right – the organ he shirt stands out – and in that photo i was first going for the fire hydrants or fire extinguisher apparatus (remember that kick of mine – and the cool fire hydrant image you shared) and the guy meandered in
–
and the covid door – with the brown paper showing so much war – that adds to the tiredness vibe and maybe shows how this is stillllllll going on

It’s right there when I look at that picture. I can’t really NOT see it.
Stilllllllllll.

The step ladder one made me LOL. Great shots! I am amazed at them, too, because they look so warm! Everybody here’s wearing winter gear from head to toe.

hi tara – everyone here is also dressed for winter and we just had a first snow!
❄️❄️❄️❄️

and that step ladder cracks me up too – and why did we call it a step ladder anyway? they all are for stepping

I do love humorous signs, so that bit was a hit. I also enjoyed the playing card T-shirt and the last shot. 🙂

I do like the server with the King of Spades shirt, but my favorite was the beach scene. I think it could be a street shot – give yourself some wiggle room Yvette. 🙂
