A day of my week – which is hosted by Amy
A typical day at Priorhouse starts with a journal entry. Well if there is time and if I am in the mood – which I would say is 75% of the time. Then, if the weather permits, I try to write outdoors – (so the body can do some synthesizing of Vitamin D3 and to enjoy nature). But inside journal time is fine too.
On this day in my week – it started raining when we went to vote.
THE LEAVES LOOKED LIKE FRENCH FRIES- Or was it because We were hungry?
BACK AT HOME, THE CHOCOLATE WE MADE YESTERDAY WAS NOW READY
5-Minute Dark Chocolate (No-Sugar) Recipe
In a nice quality cooking pot, use the stove top to melt down a 16 oz. bar of unsweetened all-natural chocolate- (don’t microwave because it damages food!)
* add in a little butter and splash of Avocado Oil
* add in ten drops of liquid vanilla stevia (we used 365 brand) – stevia drops vary so adjust amount to your liking
* mix well
* add other items – in this easy batch I added almonds, walnut pieces, and shredded unsweetened coconut – then stirred well
* spread out mixture onto parchment paper and let cool for a while or chill overnight
* enjoy your sugar-free dark chocolate with lots of flavor and crunch – mmmm
THIS CHOCOLATE GAVE ME ENERGY TO PRACTICE TAP DANCING
The tap dancing started last month. Because when I was cleaning out the closet I found a pair of tap shoes that I originally grabbed for a neighbor in 2019. They were on a blowout sale and her daughter does all kinds of dance. However – the reason those shoes were on clearance (we later found out) was because the stated size was “off” and they didn’t work for her – so I kept them. Turns out – with thick socks they fit me and so in early October, I found them and on a whim, decided to brush up on tap basics (I have some tap dance in my background because I was a theater arts major a long long time ago – and I did a group tap performance in 1994 maybe pictures of that another time – ha)
Here are the shoes – and this photo was also “last on the card” for October – so linking with bush boy’s challenge.
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY I DECIDED TO KEEP ON TAP DANCING RIGHT NOW?
Because it is so good for brain health – and gives me one more ways to “get that body movin”- 😊
The challenging of the brain with thinking about step, heel – and flap or shuffle – is giving my mind a workout!
After tapping in those clearance tap shoes – I found I still had some better-fitting tap shoes – Now thanks to wonderful YouTube- I have had some easy lessons to practice with – 🕺
It is fun to also have the tap shoes that didn’t work out for my neighbor – I might get rid of them but right now I like them for the different feel that comes with the higher heel.
SO MANY THINGS CAN GIVE OUR BRAIN A WORKOUT WHILE OTHER THINGS ALLOW IT TO RELAX.
And marveling at this funky bird and tree dress was easy on the brain – and brought a smile to see the craftsmanship and the beauty. So linking to Trent’s Weekly Smile.
