Priorhouse Street Shots (Counting Blue Cars & Linger, 1-12-22)

Hello Readers – earlier this week, the Lens-Artist team invited bloggers to connect to multiple challenges. I connected to a handful in that post but could not include too many. So today, I am joining in with the weekly smile and pull up a seat while sharing some Priorhouse Street Shots (with a linger theme).

Photo #2: Man lounging. This photo reminded me that everyone has a different journey – and as this man passes time resting along the path (with that famous view of downtown Austin) I wondered his story. Seemed like he had “all the time in the world.” (Austin, TX 2021)

Photo #3: Man in wheel chair  – lingering and looking out to the street. Perhaps he is passing time by watching cars. (Richmond, VA 2021)

Perhaps the man in the last photo was counting “blue” cars – which reminded me of the “Counting Blue Cars” Dishwalla song:

Photo #4:  Maybe these seated ladies were counting blue cars while viewing one of those online car auctions? haha – we watched (skimmed) two of those online auctions last year and it was fun to see the variety of autos and trucks that came through. (Richmond, VA 2021)

Photo #5:  Folks seated near the window – enjoying a street view. (Jefferson Hotel Richmond, VA 2019). 

All these resting (lingering) places remind me of the “Linger” song from the Cranberries

Photo #6:  Couple walking. The man carrying his shoes adds such a laid back vibe. I personally PREFER TO WEAR shoes when walking on the street, how about you?  Today’s streets could have chemicals or debris (like glass)  – but those folks that go barefoot usually have such a cool side (to go with their cool stride). (Richmond, VA 2019)

  1. It’s funny you include the Cranberries (awesome, actually) because I think that lingering dynamic runs through this post. Lingering and strolling and just chilling.

  6. I love relaxing photos such as these. Because I love to relax and people watch/read a book/chat with a friend. But my favorite is the top one, showing the wheelchair freed of its occupant. I hope the person is enjoying freedom and relaxation under the tree. 💚

  9. Beautifully put together. When Jackie and I met up again after a lifetime apart we lingered on the grass of Kensington Gardens. As I lowered myself I said I wasn’t sure I would be able to get up again.

  12. We sometimes forget that wheelchairs are chairs, and so much more. Seeing them reminded me of my now deceased uncle. He used to go around Palm Springs (California) in his wheel chair with his little dog on his lap (dog is mine now, the little creamy one you see in some of my photos). That chair really made his life tolerable. Without it he would have been housebound.

    The girls being physically together but so focused on their phones made me a little sad, but maybe it was a momentary thing.

    1. Hi – I think the being on our phones a lot is a topic for much exploration – especially as this “meta” area unfolds. So I have been turning mine off a lot these days –

      How cool about your uncle and what they wheel chair did for him – and having his pup (which I have seen on your site) is a great way to feel his essence. My neighbor down the street lost a son in 2013 and I sometimes see his dog – and remember when he got showed me the dog as a really young pup – and it sometimes makes me Sade because a child should outlive his dog.

    1. Hi – yes it was sad Dolores passed away – and she was not that old – I guess she had a bad back and some other aimlments – but truly too young!!
