Happy Monday. Here are some flowers and quotes to start the week.
“What a wonderful life I have had.
I only wish I had realized it sooner.”
~Colette
“Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.” Mark Twain
“Dear friend,
all theory is gray,
And green,
the golden tree of life.”
~Goethe

Those are beautiful flowers! Thank you for the link to my post, much appreciated. I don’t always agree with Mark Twain’s utterances but that is one I’m definitely ok with 😊

Hi Clive – I don’t always agree with Twain either and I don’t even like to read his material!
Funny because when my boys had to read Twain at different times – they yawned and dredged through as well! So not huge Twain fans in that sense , but like you noted – some of his little quotes are zingers !

I remember I quite enjoyed Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, but I was probably around 8 with no idea what racism and misogyny were!

What a floral treat you’ve brought us, Yvette. And wise words besides. Colette is one of my absolute favourite writers, especially her memoir about her mother, Sido’s house and garden.

Hi Tish. I might need to check out her memoir sometime!
So thanks for mentioning that.
And glad to share some spring flowers today.
Hope
You have a great week

There are two separate autobiographical works. I have them in a combined Penguin edition: ‘My Mother’s House’ and ‘Sido’. Much essence of French country gardens wafts out of them 🙂

For someone taking a break, you are amazing. Your flowers are fabulous and I love the quote, “I have a wonderful life…” That’s how I feel every day. I think I need to go back to my childhood and rethink it and be more grateful. And then I need to bring it forward every second of every day. Thanks for sharing the link, too. You are an amazing Story Chatter. 🙂

Hi Janet – I am
Experimenting this month with some scheduled posts so I can take some time away – first time I did it this way (and not sure I’ll repeat this way- but waiting to see how it goes)
Hope you have a nice rest of the week

Beautiful flower photos! Flowers just bring brightness to my day! I wish I had more flowers growing in my yard. I was so sad when my rosebush died.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hi Lisa, I bet it was sad to lose your rose bush. I have not had success with rose shrubs – they seem to finicky (white powder, fungus, aphids, etc) and I heard there are easier varieties these days but not my flower to grow.
and one easy way (as you might already know) to have more flowers in the yard is to get a few containers.
It is amazing how one full pot of blooms in a corner area can do – hmmm

I think a scorching summer killed ours. We are replanting with lantana. They do very good in the heat, and they are quite colorful!

I love lantana – and first had some in some mixed hanging baskets – they trail so well and I think I first had the rainbow “multi colored ” ones
And I hope yours do well in the heat!

Hi Linda – thanks for the nice comment
And I lined up the posts because I will be going offline from my blog for a lot of this month – (trying to do it without just leaving the blog static)
Anyhow – it was an experiment to see how it would go (to schedule 10
Posts) rather than go silent – so I will see how it goes
