Hello Readers, 

Today I have some misc. art to share. 

I was going to have these post in April when I was on a blog break; however, I canceled some of those posts because it is not fun responding to comments two and three weeks after they are left. 

So… here are some artsy things that came out way in January/February 2022.

First up – fabric art. Can you guess what this was on? The answer is at the end of the post. 

1) Line design fabric art – what was this? – see below for answer.

2. Three Wisemen Fabric Art (even though scholars believe that there were more than a dozen wise men that visited – but they brought three main gifts (gold, frankincense and myrrh), which somehow made it seem like only three wiseman came. 
3. Can you guess what this art was on? This was a gift bag…. with a fun little tassle.

4) This was a large canvas print we grabbed for cousin N when we went to visit her. She loved it. The soft greens matched the spot she wanted to put this.

5) Bill Proud Photography – Aspen tree in Aspen, Colorado. Bill Proud is my husband’s Aunt’s husband. He has been a professional photographer since the 80s (or earlier). My brother-n-law has a few of Bill’s prints framed and hanging in their house. This photo above is one that my mother-n-law had in her house and I just noticed it last December – so I grabbed a photo. We now have two of our own Bill Proud framed art pieces to do something with – and I offered them to my boys. Read below to find out more.
6) My Father-n-Law passed away and left a lot of stuff for us to go through. Some of the stuff to sort is really nice and so we are carefully considering what to do with what is left (charity got most of the furniture and other misc). Anyhow, my husband’s AWESOME Aunt Gayle married a photographer named Bill Proud. He has had various accolades with his work over the years and the rainbow photo to the right is special. You see, Bill was in a cafe in Telluride, CO (he and Gayle live close to Telluride). So Bill was in a cafe (on an iconic little street that runs through town) with a group of other photographers and they looked outside to see this brilliant double rainbow. Bill was the only one camera ready and so he captured a photo. Now my picture of his framed Telluride rainbow is not the best (hope it is okay for now) but I guess that this framed print hung in the Telluride art gallery for many years.  Somehow my father-n-law acquired it and he had it in storage. I offered it back to Bill & Gayle but they said no thanks. So I think son2 will take that one and son1 gets our avian friend (left). If I get a better photo of the rainbow I will share it later. Seeing Bill’s wrk so much the last six months reminded me that photography truly is art!

Lastly – wood art with two simple little words: BE THANKFUL. In all things – let’s dig up gratitude and remember that not everything that happens is good, but it CAN “work for good” and we can get more from the challenges when we approach it with humility and gratitude. Or at least try to….

    1. Hey JT – my cousins loved the art we brought it and that was cool
      And just a tip
      A make a video or wrote down what you want done with certain things (or not)
      And if anything is special (for collectible and with a lot of special for memories)
      Be sure to write that down! My FIL had musical instruments from
      The late 1800s but we forgot to have him write it down. He told us about some things in 2019 but I really wish we wrote it down

  8. This was so much fun Yvette! I guessed almost all of them. Glad the kids will salvage the wonderful rainbow picture. It’s always fun to have something in the family with such a special memory. I have a few pieces of furniture my grandpa made which are so special and I’m so happy one of my girls kept the old oak. 💖

    1. Hi Cindy – if son2 doesn’t want the double rainbow from
      Telluride – I might reach out and see if their museum wants it for the permanent collection (because it hung there for a few years)
      And family heirloom

  9. You’re right…art is everywhere! We just have to keep our eyes open and hear willing to see the beauty around us. The canvas is pretty, as well as the sparkly tassel.

    1. thanks for the comment – and that store sounds amazing – they are hard to find these days.
      We drove 90 minutes to an Amish store (in FL) and got there to find it closed down – sniff.

  19. I did not guess what the fabric was Yvette. I thought it was muslin or cheesecloth, but knew it was stiff material, where muslin or cheesecloth would be flimsy. I sorted through some photos today and am building a post of art items too – a mishmash, but fun collection for early June.

      1. It was just going to be a WW post but has morphed into more. Like you, I have been collecting different photos and add to them to make WW posts – that has been fun. I was trying to guess that material. Should have thought of it – maybe the texture of a straw hat with flowers on it like you wear or hang on a door for a Summer decoration. I’ve sen some nice door decorations made from straw hats.
