Last on the Card (03August2022)

Good Morning,

Joining last on the card here – Bushboy’s challenge.

That feather in the water reminded me of Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope is the thing with feathers (#314)”

“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all –
And sweetest – in the Gale – is heard –
And sore must be the storm –
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm –
I’ve heard it in the chillest land –
And on the strangest Sea –
Yet – never – in Extremity,
It asked a crumb – of me.

Let us all find ways to let hope lift us up and lighten the load – and if hope tries to float away – let’s reach and grab it!

    1. Good morning joy roses – and I almost posted about Winston Churchill this week because I have been reading about his life and watched a few shows – but went with the last on the card
      – but his quotes are amazing and here is one with hope –

“All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.”

        1. Quite a character and his life was all leading up to be used so strategically during WWII (I will let you know if I get to post about him) ☀️😊

  1. Is that dog going to be in trouble? I like the action feel to the photo. Fabulous Last Photo and video Yvette. Thanks for joining in 🙂 🙂

    1. Hi BB – that dog placed the little toy there for me to play with him – he likes when I toss it and then he brings it back – lol
But – that doll just bit the dust today – doll is gone – no mas ! No hope – hahahaha

        1. Hi BB – well the doll was not a true dog toy and not sure where we got it – but we were just marveling about how it hadn’t been ripped up (our brown lab can do that sometimes) anyhow – it was an easy clean up and I try not to give them non-dog toys just in case
Oh and to insert an image
Click on the image in the media folder
          Choose edit image
It should open to where you scroll down and see a button that says “copy file url to clip board” – click that and then you can paste it into a comment
Once in a while it only adds the link but most of the time – the image pops up!

    1. Hi Lisa! It is a top one for me too and it amazes me how I take away different things from her poetry – like I know this poem but it spoke to me in a different way last month! The beauty of literature ☀️😊💛

    1. Good point, the rhyme scheme has been shunned by many –
Yet lyrics in songs still love the rhyme and I think it has its place – even tho Emily didn’t always rhyme – right?

  2. What an interesting post. I love your last on the card. Too funny. That’s how some of mine come out. I laughed when I saw the follow-up of the long lost doll who bit the dust. Another one bites the dust…
